Behaviorism is a learning theory, wihcih claims that learning takes place through imitation and reinforcement.
this theory has two key notions:

Habits and Errors.

Habits

Behaviorist psychology explains behavior by observing responses that take place with some stimuli.

Different stimuli produce different responses from learners that can be haphazard or regular.

So, the association of a response with a stimulus constitutes a habit.

Habits have two characteristics: they are observable and automatic.
Their learning takes place through imitation and reinforcement.

Errors

According to Behaviorism, old habits interfere with new habits learning.
Interference is the result of something called “roactive Inhibition”, which is concerned with the way previous learning prevents or inhibits the learning of new habits.

Learning involves the development of new habits wherever there are differences between the two techniques. So, learners need to overcome “roactive Inhibition”.

difference between error amd mistake.

error are part of our whole, they are unconcius and reflect non-learning. people dont realise. they think what they said or made was right.

mistakes are part of our performance, they are concius, beacuse people realise when they made a mistake, so that they can fix their mistake



difference between learning and adquiering.

learning is concious.

eg: when you are taking a speific subject you already know what you are going to learn. so you ralise that you are learning that.

adquiering is unconcious.

eg: when you are in another country, you adquiere the accent and the language unconciously.

this is just one theory of learning; there are more.....
